These photos are just to give you some ideas. You can use just about any kind of containers you can dig up. Nothing is sacred! If you can put some drainage holes in the bottom, add some small rocks and put in your soil..........there you go! Plant your food! Nourish yourself and your family!

Right now, I am so tired and wanting a nap. When I saw your post, I wonder just how frugal it would be to raise my bed in my bedroom. Only underbed storage was on my sleepy mind...lol.
Those are very artistic looking beds.

I love the cinder block/ rock beds. I've been coveting raised veggie beds for a while, but haven't wanted to take the $ investment or have to be handy to pull it off. Thanks for the pics!

For 18 years I had 2 acres of raised beds. Now I am a renter at a senior/disabled apartment. I've cut down to 3000 sq ft. My raised beds are just dirt. This was the third year of my garden here. I put up pics today. Some pics are in the blog post, some in the slideshow link.

These are some great ideas! Our family has just recently started our homestead goal and sometimes I feel a little lost about where to start! We just chose the area of our 3 acre lot where our garden will go, now I have some more ideas for good usage of space. I especially love the lettuce bins!

Linda, try cinder blocks for the bed too! I highly recommend cinder blocks for all kinds of projects. They are pretty cheap if you only need a few. Thanks for visiting my blog, and I hope you will come back!

Hannah, the cinder block beds are great because they hold the daytime heat through out the night. The plants I have in those beds really do well! They aren't very expensive. Maybe less than $2.00 each. It varies. Or you can find old ones that someone does not want. That is how I got these. Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

Wendy, I visited your blog and really enjoyed it! I will be back soon. Your garden looked like it produced well. It is the only way to have fresh produce anymore since everything is SO expensive. After we pay our bills there is not that much left so every little bit helps. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment!!! I hope you will return!!!!
