My husband and I are now in the process of trying to sell our BIG home and have found an off grid home with 16.9 acres that we want. We plan to go solar as soon as we can. The off grid is generators and gas lights, fridge and stove. Gas heater and a wood stove. We are in northern NY. Sounds like you are more central eh? Susie
We are located about 35 miles north of Binghamton and the same distance from Oneonta. People will tell you NY isn't good for solar, but there are a lot of solar homes here and we are very happy with our's. I just want more solar panels.
That is good news. I've got a Sun Oven and I'm finding it difficult to find good sunny days so I was wondering about solar panels. It will be quite an adventure for us. We will be going down to a 1,000 square foot home. We hope to get some chickens but need to learn what kind, and what to do with them. LOL. We are about a half hour from the Canadian border and two hours to Vermont. Susie Susie
