When people come to our home for the first time, they think we live really "out there." It doesn't seem that way to us anymore. Since we are only a short way from many different little towns, it doesn't seem far at all. When we first moved here, it seemed more secluded to me back then. Of course, since then, we have had more houses built around the area and some of the camps have turned into full time residences.
As you can see the forest is thick and there aren't any houses close by. Our neighbor up the road, Charlie moved onto his property last year and plans on building a house in the near future. Until he moved in, we had no neighbors to speak of. I always kid that the only neighbors we have are the wild kind. In all honesty, there is not that many wild animals that we have seen. Mostly deer. None come onto our property though. They are seen around so we know they are out there. I guess we are too active for them to come around our property.

Looks beautiful...I live in southern NJ
I remember when we moved from the RV into our present home. I cleaned, rearranged, etc. because it was so much bigger than the RV. Now I do good to clean once a month, and it gets smaller every day. I guess the newness has worn off, as my mother would say.
You probably felt you were at the end of the world when your first moved there. Now I bet there are times you wish you could move farther away.

Southern NJ must look comparable to NY. I have many neighbors around me from NJ, who have retired here.
Sunny, I did feel that way. In the beginning I was a little timid about living so far out. Now I can't remember why I felt that way! I didn't realize you had lived in an RV. That must have been interesting.
Living in the woods is a wonderful thing. Although we do have neighbours, we are all on acreages and so no one is "very close" to each other.
I couldn't go back to living in the City again, no way!
