Many times, I have to take my laundry to one of the local laundromats. I get tired or don't have the time to always wash my laundry by hand. In the little town near me there is this cute little laundry that I usually go to. You can tell it is a farming area when you get up to the door and read the sign:
ATTENTION!
ABSOLUTELY NO WASHING OF HORSE BLANKETS
OR PET BEDS
A $300.00 CHARGE WILL BE BILLED
WITNESSES WILL BE REWARDED!
PLEASE GET A LICENSE NUMBER
The owner apparently got sick and tired of people bringing their pet beds and horse blankets to the laundromat to wash them. It does ruin the machines and leaves them dirty for the next person. It is pretty common for people to not want to put them in their own machines at home. They take them somewhere else. I like it that he did this. Because I really didn't want to put my laundry in the machine after they washed something like that in it. How would you know? I don't smell the machine before I use it. I believe though, he had machines get ruined due to this problem.
Have a happy Saturday night!

It's been years since I went to a laundry mat. However, comforters do better in those bigger machines, so I've been tempted to go to one. I usually have to wash mine twice in my little machine at home b/c there is not enough room for the soap to distribute. lol
Have a great rest of the weekend.
Living in a horsey community in Cape Town we have the same message at our laundromat - but ours includes not washing dog blankets too - there are plenty of dogs here which the locals love to walk on the beach.
I, too, would object to my laundry going into a "dirty" tub.
Laundromats are a great place to pick up the local "dirt" as I remember.....smiles.
